What is Important to Word-is-Truth

We Believe…

That the Holy Bible is the infallible inerrant Word of God.
We believe in the verbal plenary inspiration of the Bible.
We believe God says what He means and means what He says.
(Heb 4:12; 2 Tim 3:16, 17; 2Tim 2:15)

That salvation is by faith alone in the God-man Jesus Christ who entered the world to pay for the sins of mankind in his human body.
God the Father imputed the sins of the world to Jesus Christ on the cross and judged Him as our substitute. Jesus Christ died a physical death, was buried, rose from the dead on the third day and ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father in glory and honor. (Eph 2:8, 9; 1John 2:2; 1Cor 15:3, 4; Heb 1:3).

That the Holy Bible is interpreted according to dispensations, which describe God’s changing plan for different era’s of time, (the age of Israel, the Church age, the Tribulation, and the Millennium etc.,), but salvation remains the same through all dispensations, which is by
faith. (Eph 1:9, 10; 3:2-6; Luke 21:24; Matt 24; Eph 2:8, 9; Rom 4:9-17).

That we are in the Church age, which began on the day of Pentecost and will end when Jesus Christ comes for his Church and will remove them from earth at the rapture. (1Thes 4:4:13-18; 1Cor 15:51, 52).

That each Church age believer is in the Royal Family of God, is a priest of God, an Ambassador of Christ, an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ. (1Pet 2:9, 10; Rev 1:6; 2Cor 5:17-20; Rom 8:16-19).

That each believer is called by the Lord Jesus Christ to bear much fruit, and fruit That will last, resulting in obtaining the fullness of Christ. This is accomplished by the Pastor’s exegetical and expository communication of Bible doctrine, bringing the believer from spiritual childhood to spiritual maturity. (John 15:1-8; Eph 4:11-16; Col 1:25-29).

That God’s plan is executed by the consistent intake of the Word of God and the power of the filling of God the Holy Spirit. Christian service is always a privilege for the believer, and is an expression of our love for the Lord. Christian service is the result, not the means of executing God’s plan. (Jeremiah 15:16; Matt 4:4; John 4:23, 24; Gal 5:16; Eph 5:18; 2:10; John 14:15; 1Cor 3:12-14).

That God is responsible for maintaining our relationship we have with Him. However, we are responsible to maintain our fellowship with God. We must determine to walk in the truth we have learned; and recognize when we have failed the Lord and confess our sins in order to maintain this precious fellowship with God. (John 3:16; 5:24; 10:28-30; Rom 8:1; 1John 1:7-10).

Word-is-Truth Beginnings

Word-is-Truth was founded because of our dedication and commitment to the Word of God which we believe is the truth. The times in which we live are characterized by a loose handling of the sacred Word of God. Our attitude toward God will be seen by our handling of the very thing that He declares reveals who He is and what is His will—His own Word.

If we do not know the Word, we do not really know God. If we do not reverence the Word, we do not reverence God. If we do not have humility towards the Word, we do not have humility towards God! It is our objective to dust off the cobwebs of indifference and ignorance of the Word and place it where it belongs, on the throne of our souls.

Many churches are boasting that they have the truth. They are claiming that they alone possess the truth of God. But, the truth belongs to God; and it is found in only one place, His Word. “Your word is truth” (John 17:17b). Truth will be discovered and determined by what the Word teaches and never by philosophy, emotion, or any Church’s traditions.
